Where the physical examination takes place on pets

Patient Exam Room

Examination

An exam room in a veterinary hospital is a special place where pets go to see the veterinarian. When your pet needs a check-up or isn’t feeling well, the vet will bring them into this room.

After the veterinarian checks your pet, they decide what to do next. If your pet needs treatment, they might be taken to the treatment room.

Veterinary Technicians help the veterinarian to make sure the pet is comfortable and safe while the doctor treats them.

Check out the icons on the image to the left to learn about the room. Continue to the next room below when you are done.

Exam Table

The exam table helps the vet look closely at your pet to see how they’re doing. They might listen to their heart, check their ears, or give them a shot to help them stay healthy. It’s a safe and comfy spot where the vet can give your pet the care they need to feel better and stay strong!

Tools

The Technician will get a TPR on the animal for the doctor.

T – Temperature ( Hot / Cold)

P – Pulse ( Heart Rate)

R – Respiratory Rate ( Breathing rate)

Technicians will use tools like thermometers, stethoscopes, and scales to check the temperature, heartbeat, respiratory rate and weight. They will ask the owner some questions to get a history on the pet for the Dr to get an understanding of the pets overall health.
